TESLA HAS A SECRET HIDDEN MASCOT — A HEDGEHOG NAMED JOE
At the very top of the main flagpole at Giga Texas sits a polished metal ball, and on that ball Tesla hid a tiny white hedgehog figurine — the iconic "haha yes" hedgehog, engraved with the words "hi joe".
It's a tribute to long-time drone videographer Joe Tegtmeyer, who has filmed the factory's rise from day one. The hedgehog meme became a running joke between Joe and the Tesla crew — and years later it turned up on a Tesla order confirmation with the caption "Cybertruck Confirmed."
